Mold Resistant Drywall

In recent years manufacturers of drywall have become increasingly aware and concerned with mold issues in the home building industry, especially in basements.  Mold growth requires moisture and a food source.  By elimination these two things will greatly reduce the drisk of mold growth.

Gypum drywall manufactures have developed products with gypsum cores that will not absorb moisture as easily as regular drywall and treated paper facing on front and back that will not act as food source for mold. 

Certain Teed has developed a line of M2 Tech ProRoc gypsum boards that is designed to resist mold growth.

Canadian Gypsum (CGC) has developed their HUMITEC Gypsum panel to resist mold growth.
